Consulting firm, WAV Group, today commented on Zillow’s recent announcement of its intent to acquire transaction management company, dotloop.
The author posits three possible reasons for the acquisition; getting into the forms business, expanding their FSBO offering, and tying in home services advertising into transactions. "These are all business strategies that have the potential to yield significant dividends. It would only take the successful execution of one of these to justify the purchase," the commentary states.
What are the takeaways, according to WAV? Associations should be discussing the impact that Zillow forms could have on their business, and brokers should be discussing the impact that a more empowered FSBO seller would have on their business.
